Matching funds from EMC (we haven't heard from them on the corrections to the original contract) have not been received.

New Business

40 meter antenna add on is in production, to be canceled, and one is to be purchased from a private individual for $165.00, shipped, to arrive before Field Day!

Field Day hats have been ordered by Earl. Cost $10.00 each.

Update on the trailers, 1st is almost done, 2nd is yet to be fixed up for Field Day.

Field Day is out at the fair grounds.

Earl moved that the members help with the food. Tom seconded and the motion passed.

Dayton Hamfest
Some of the members of the club went out to Dayton, OH. All had a grand time with lots to look at and buy.

Washington Demon Dash for Cash, starts at 8:00 AM, Saturday, April 17, 2010.

New Business

A trailer has been donated to the Club for a tower. Gene Powers donated a second trailer.
Craig moved that we allow $100.00 to get second trailer up to par, motion passed.

Last weekend in May for training for Field Day setup and tear down with safety.

John Kauble brought an antenna down for our viewing to replace current repeater antenna. After short discussion, motion made to purchase antenna for $300. Motion carried.

Hamfest reviewed as a success.

The fall riverboat grant application was turned in.

Christmas party will be on November 20th, 2009

November meeting will be nominations for officers.

Weather Spotter info handed out. Weather spotting was discussed.

Discussed how vague the new wireless law is. The bill has died for the year.

April 18 is amateur radio awareness day. Opportunity for a special event station discussed. Enough interest is generated to do something that day.

Dues need to be paid if you haven't already.

Work started on the Riverboat Foundation Grant.

Osky Hamfest Flier handed out.

Technician classes at school were discussed. Fliers will be distributed to students. If enough interest, will then take steps to make a class schedule.

On 40 meters from 7100-7200 will be off limits to broadcast stations.

Location of Field Day discussed. The fairgrounds seemed to be the favorite spot. Will try to get that again. Mark will pursue that location.

Field trip to KCRG TV & WMT radio in Cedar Rapids. Friday March 27 was first choice. Wednesday March 25 was second choice.

Storm Spotting at Brighton Fire Dept on February 26, 2009. 6 PM to 9 PM

VE session went well. Two of three persons upgraded license classes.
Books available to study.

Mark is researching antennas for repeater. Item is still tabled.

Amateur Radio Awareness Day, April 18, 2009. K3JNZ, ABØDX, and NØCHN are brainstorming ideas of a demo at the school. Possibly have a class and a VE session.

Muscatine has new echolink node. KCØWWV

World Radio has been sold to CQ. Subscriptions to world radio will be turned into CQ.
World radio will be an all digital publication.
